African Academy Of Cinematic Arts’s programs are designed for a new generation of authentic African storytellers: visionaries who share a passion for visual and performing arts. Our Programs are intensive. We strive to educate, train and mentor our students to become the best filmmakers and Screen actors they can be.  This is achieved by a rigorous schedule of classroom instruction, hands-on workshops, and practical experience.
One Year Acting Course
One Year Acting Course

AACA – African Academy of Cinematic Arts: One Year Acting course designed equally for beginning actors as well as those with experience, the Academy’s acting school provides actors with intensive training in screen acting, modern on-camera acting techniques, and supporting acting classes, which contribute to the creation of a filmed performance.

AACA – African Academy of Cinematic Arts Filmmaking Year 1 Program gives students the all-around filmmaking experience necessary to make their own films. The year is divided into two semesters, Students in the program receive over 1,000 hours of hands-on instruction and actual production experience.

AACA MASTERCLASS
AACA MASTERCLASS

AACA masterclass is an exciting, intensive and experience driven program that is designed to take you on filmmaking journey for 5 Saturdays. During this program, Participants will write, shoot and edit a five-minute short-film with their mentors.

AREAS OF STUDY
At AACA you are fully immersed into an intensive project-driven experience, taking you from knowing nothing or very little about filmmaking to: Writing, Acting, Shooting and Editing your own Films, TV shows, Commercials, Documentaries, Music videos and more
DIRECTING

The Director is the creative boss of the production, He or she carries the creative vision of the and holds the rare skill to take it from concept to cinema.

SCRIPTWRITING

Every Film starts with a Concepts and concept develops into a story. The scriptwriter has the rare skill to craft an ordinary story into a screenplay for filming

PRODUCING

Budgeting, Scheduling, Timelines and negotiations. Money, Money and more money is the lifeline of every creative business, the producer holds the business key of every production.

CINEMATOGRAPHY

It all comes down to the eye of the lens. A Cinematographer translates the director’s vision using the camera to manipulate shadow and light to bring the story to life.

EDITING

Editors piece the puzzle of a film together with an editing software using shots, crafting each frame into a living narrative.

ACTING

Actors are the stars of the production. Acting is the privilege to exist for just a moment in someone else’s shoes. Amazing!

SOUND DESIGN

A Sound Designer fabricates the soundscape, by acquiring and manipulating audio signals, to create an all immersive cathartic experience.

PD

The Production Designer creates the film world making use of set design, props, wardrobe and Make-Up. They bring the director’s vision to reality.
