Bernadine produced the award-winning short documentary Rise: Black Ocean, which received the Best Indie Film award at the Lift Off Sessions in 2019 and garnered a nomination for best post-production. Collaborating with the Graça Machel Trust and the African Women Development Fund (AWDF), Bernadine directed and produced a documentary that highlights the challenges faced by South African women entrepreneurs in securing funding.

Mpho Chabalala is a Director and Cinematographe r with a deep passion for visual storytelling. His work spans a variety of projects, including the Netflix documentary Senzo and acclaimed SABC shows like Heavy Hitters and Instapreneurs. As a freelancer, Mpho has contributed to Carte Blanche and collaborated with major brands such as Coca Cola, Makro, Chivas Regal, and Smirnoff. He has also worked with corporate clients like China Construction Bank, BoxFusion, and ForGood. His experience covers a broad range of sectors, from mining and property videos to music videos, adverts, and documentaries. Mpho Phashe is an exceptional cinematographer who graduated from AACA in 2020. After completing her studies, she remained at AACA, working as a camera assistant to Dr. Frank, where they collaborated on a range of projects. Mpho has since sharpened her cinematography expertise, earning a drone piloting qualification in 2022. She later joined the Multichoice team as a camera operator and has excelled in her role. Notably, she was part of the first-ever all-women crew for the 2024 Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa, receiving an award for her work on the "Here for Her" campaign.Bernadine produced the award-winning short documentary Rise: Black Ocean, which received the Best Indie Film award at the Lift Off Sessions in 2019 and garnered a nomination for best post-production. Amogelang Telekelo

Amogelang Telekelo is a talented young Motswana actor, born and raised in Botswana, with a deep passion for the arts. She is best known for her role as Palesa Mokoena in Youngins, one of Showmax's latest hits, where she plays a fiery and seductive feminist unafraid to speak her mind. Amogelang’s journey in the arts began at the age of nine with fine arts, and after high school, she transitioned to the performing arts. Initially, she enrolled at Limkokwing University in Botswana, but her calling for acting drove her to make the bold decision to move to Johannesburg and study at the African Academy of Cinematic Arts (AACA). Reflecting on her time there, she describes it as “one hell of a ride” that shaped her into the actor she is today. From short films to leading live performances, her dedication earned her the Best Female Lead award in Cycle 3. Amogelang also showed her commitment by volunteering behind the scenes, helping other crews and constantly striving to learn from her peers and mentors. Her hard work was recognized when she was awarded a scholarship to study Producing and Production Design in her final year, excelling in both fields under the mentorship of Mr. Miskar. In 2023, as she neared the end of her course, Amogelang landed her breakthrough role in Youngins, marking a pivotal moment in her career. “Now that I’m in the industry, I keep having ‘aha’ moments. School prepared me so well for this,” she reflects on the challenges and competitiveness of the industry, likening it to a world where "you either eat or get eaten." Despite the overwhelming support from social media and fans, Amogelang remains grounded, determined to continue pushing boundaries and building an even bigger future for herself in the entertainment world. Kgotso Matlaletsa

Kgotso Matlaletsa, widely known as KG, completed matric in 2022 and embarked on an acting course at the African Academy of Cinematic Arts (AACA). In his first cycle, KG was chosen to join the prestigious graduation performance group, directed by Miskar Chomes, where he showcased his talent at the 2022 alumni graduation ceremony. His breakthrough came when he starred as the male lead in the short film The Love I Know I Deserved, a performance that earned him the Best Male Lead award for cycle one. He continued to make waves, winning the Best Male Lead award again in the final cycle of the year for his role in King of the Court. KG is currently studying Fine Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand, and his recent work includes a feature in a World Health Organization advert.
Cameron Mapolie

I recently graduated from AACA with great success and was honored to receive the Future Star Award at my graduation ceremony. This recognition ignited my passion even further, and I had the thrilling opportunity to perform at the “iPOP!” event in Los Angeles, where I showcased my talent in front of several international agencies. The experience was incredibly rewarding and led to a scholarship offer to attend the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in 2025, where I’ll pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting for Film. Additionally, I had the unique experience of being cast as a stand-in for the German reality TV show Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!, which added a fascinating new layer to my career. As I look ahead to this exciting chapter, I’m eager to continue honing my craft and chasing my dreams in performance. My journey, from my AACA graduation to international stages and notable projects, has been extraordinary, and I look forward to the new opportunities awaiting me at NYFA.
Hlengiwe Shelembe

Hlengiwe Shelembe is a versatile creative director, actor, and strategist with a deep passion for media and storytelling that drives her diverse career. Known for her attention to detail and visionary mindset, she has led creative projects for notable clients like MTN and BRICS, playing a key role in developing multimedia campaigns that truly connect with audiences. Although her strengths lie behind the camera, Hlengiwe has also stepped in front of it, as shown by her appearance in the YouTube series *Poetic Group Therapy*. This expansion of her artistic journey highlights her commitment to exploring different aspects of storytelling, enhancing her directorial work while broadening her creative range. In her entrepreneurial efforts, Hlengiwe launched Mzamela Media, a company focused on turning creative ideas into practical strategies. Her firm has worked with prominent companies such as 360 Health and Zwonaka MLM Holdings, along with a range of successful SMMEs. Driven by a passion for growth and a vision to make a lasting impact on the media landscape, Hlengiwe is set to shape the future of the industry. Shaun Collin Dingashe

Shaun Collin Dingashe, a 21-year-old rising star in both the South African music and acting scenes, hails from the small town of Aliwal North. Growing up, Shaun was deeply influenced by the rich cultural sounds of his community, which fueled his passion for music and the arts. By his early teens, he was already writing lyrics and crafting beats, blending his roots with hip-hop to create a sound that is both innovative and authentic. Shaun's talents extend beyond music; he is also making waves as an actor. A graduate of the African Academy of Film & Cinematic Arts (AACA), Shaun's roles during his studies earned him widespread recognition, culminating in a Best Supporting Actor award at the annual Graduation Ceremony. His magnetic performances and natural charisma have established him as a sought-after talent in the industry. In both music and acting, Shaun remains committed to his craft, using his platform to inspire and uplift his community while leading the way for the next generation of South African artists. Recent Projects: Shaun served as the executive engineer for Kane Keid's industry-acclaimed track "WAR," featuring Priddy Ugly and Tyson Syabateli. He made the Top 20 in the MVP Rap Competition, co-hosted by Blxckie, showcasing his impressive lyrical skills. He recently collaborated with the musical platform Vartisee, with the episode available on their YouTube channel. Shaun continues to apply the resilience and discipline he honed at AACA to both his music and acting careers. Currently freelancing as a cinematographer with Luke Service Provider, Trinity has made significant strides in his career. After graduating, his skills are now highly regarded, and he’s entrusted to independently handle major events, no longer just the backup cameraman but the main talent behind the lens. With a diverse portfolio spanning weddings, funerals, birthdays, and various other events, Trinity's work continues to elevate with every project. John Sibiya

John Sibiya is a sound designer and editing specialist who has made a significant impact in the film and television industry since graduating from the African Academy of Cinematic Arts (AACA). During his academic years, John excelled in sound design and video editing, earning medals in both disciplines and receiving a prestigious sound design award upon graduation. Since then, he has collaborated with emerging artists and production companies to create unique sounds for various projects. In addition to his work in sound design, John has started producing music beats for emerging talent in his community. Currently, he is embarking on a journey to establish a production company with industry peers, continuing to push the boundaries of sound design and editing. Lerato Maluleka

Lerato Maluleka is a talented cinematographer who graduated from the African Academy of Cinematic Arts (AACA) in 2020. During her time as a student, she earned several awards for her exceptional filmmaking skills, showcasing her dedication to the craft. In 2022, Lerato founded her own photography company, leveraging her deep background in film to offer a unique perspective on visual storytelling. In 2023, she joined Tsukiri Media as the head of production, where she specializes in capturing graduation moments for prestigious universities such as TUT and UCT. Lerato’s solid foundation in filmmaking enhances her approach to photography, allowing her to create compelling and memorable images. Additionally, she runs a home photography studio, where she continues to refine her skills and expand her expertise in the field.
Kalencia Naicker

Kalencia is a Director and Editor with extensive experience in creating for film, television, social media, and corporate content. She was part of the team behind the offline editing of the documentary series Wild Zambezi, released exclusively in cinemas and narrated by the iconic John Kani. Kalencia also collaborates with businesses, focusing on high-profile events, including the national Absa Brand Launch 2024. Her team’s work was instrumental in creating dynamic visuals for the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) 2023. Kalencia strives to tell engaging stories, create meaningful connections and leave an impact with every project she undertakes.

Pfunzo Percy Mahafha is a talented and hardworking actor who graduated from AACA in 2022. Since earning his acting qualification, Pfunzo has pursued his dreams, landing a role in the Mzansi Magic film *Umcelo*. He continues to work behind the scenes on various productions while staying focused on his craft. In addition to acting, Pfunzo is also a model, having participated in numerous fashion shows where he showcases local brands.

Mpho Malange is a gifted actor and filmmaker who graduated with qualifications in both Acting and Filmmaking from AACA. He started his acting journey in 2020, and his passion for filmmaking led him behind the scenes in 2021, where he earned his filmmaking qualification in 2022. In 2023, Mpho joined the Multichoice Talent Factory as an intern, where he continues to refine and develop his skills as a film director.
Musa Nyathi

Musa Nyathi graduated from AACA in 2019, where he majored in Acting as part of his filmmaking studies. As a student, Musa was known for his brilliance, constantly pushing boundaries and stepping outside of his comfort zone. His exceptional talent earned him several awards as a student actor. Since then, he has pursued his acting career, landing roles in major TV productions. He has appeared in popular soap operas like *Muvhango* on SABC 2, *Ubethinawethu* on SABC 1, and *Skeem Saam*, along with various roles in films on Mzansi Magic. Musa continues to challenge himself, and his growth as an actor is unmistakable.

Abimael Mikhari studied filmmaking at AACA, specializing in Cinematography and Editing. His dedication as a student earned him awards in both fields. After graduating in 2022, he joined the AACA team as an intern, where he continued to hone his skills in photography and editing. Since graduating from AACA, I’ve had the opportunity to work consistently with SuperSport and its subsidiaries, contributing to major projects like the ICC T20 Men’s and Women’s World Cups, the Netball World Cup, SuperSport Schools, and the Eben Etzebeth #128 Cap promo. As a director, camera operator, and actor, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with some of South Africa’s most celebrated sporting figures and teams, while also collaborating with some of the most talented professionals in the filmmaking industry. Currently, I’m working on my first solo script, a project that holds deep personal significance. My journey into film came later in life, and AACA gave me the freedom to explore different facets of filmmaking without judgment or pressure. Noguba Nwabisa Theodora

Noguba Nwabisa Theodora is a talented filmmaker and media professional currently finalizing her thesis for graduation in 2023/2024. She has expertise in script writing, cinematography, directing, producing, sound design, editing, and production design. Noguba was one of the lead actors in the AACA production The Wrong Girl, showcasing her acting prowess. In her role at the Steve Biko Academic Hospital Radio, she manages daily operations, liaising with hospital management and the radio station team to enhance the Department of Health’s objectives through effective electronic media. She is also responsible for recruiting and training staff and interns, overseeing program content, and engaging in on-air presenting and news reporting.
Kululeko Manjane

Kululeko Manjane graduated from the African Academy of Cinematic Arts (AACA) in 2022. Initially starting his journey as an acting student, his love and passion for filmmaking soon led him behind the scenes, where he majored in cinematography and editing. He founded a production company called Milk, which specializes in post-production services. Nkululeko is a dedicated filmmaker who continues to collaborate with prominent names in the industry. Recently, he launched a YouTube channel aimed at helping aspiring editors improve their skills, with a focus on Adobe Premiere Pro editing software.
Karabo Seretsi

Karabo Seretsi is a versatile filmmaker who graduated from the African Academy of Cinematic Arts (AACA) in 2020, where he focused on producing. His dedication and hard work as a student earned him several AACA Student Awards, setting a solid foundation for his career. Following his graduation, Karabo made his mark in the South African film and television industry, joining the production crew of notable projects such as the 1Magic TV series 1802, e.tv's House of Zwide, and Gomora, where he served as an art intern and art coordinator, among other roles. It was during this period that I truly refined my skills, focusing on visual storytelling. Working on recent projects, including multiple music video shoots, allowed me to push creative boundaries and thrive in fast-paced production environments. My dedication was recognized when I received two prestigious AACA awards: Best Cinematographer and Best Editor. These achievements have been pivotal in my journey and continue to inspire my growth and pursuit of excellence in the field.

Sanele graduated from the African Academy of Cinematic Arts (AACA) after two years of dedicated learning, where he majored in cinematography and editing. Following his graduation, he continued to pursue his passion for the camera, honing his photography skills along the way. Currently, Sanele works as a freelancer, creating films and capturing moments through his lens.
Katleho Nthejane

Early Life and Education Born in 2002 in Bloemfontein, South Africa, Katleho Nthejane has always been drawn to the world of storytelling and the arts. After completing her matric in 2020, she pursued her passion at the African Academy of Cinematic Arts, where she graduated in 2023 with a major in Directing and Scriptwriting. Her dedication and talent earned her several awards for directing and best scriptwriting during her studies, setting the stage for an exciting career in film. Career In 2024, Katleho launched her professional journey as a Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) for a few episodes on the SABC magazine show *Beyond*. Her commitment and skill quickly led her to Brightfire Productions, where she contributed as both an ingest technician and DIT on the popular show *Celebrity Mystery Box*. Her internship experience allowed her to gain invaluable hands-on training across various production roles. Starting as a production intern, she excelled and was transferred to do post-production tasks and secured a permanent position as a Junior Assistant Editor at Brightfire Productions recently. Katleho recently worked on Nadia Nakai's new show, which premiered on MTV on October 12, 2024, where she served as both a DIT on set and a junior assistant editor in post-production. She is also contributing to the highly anticipated show *The Matshai Sisters* for Mzansi Magic, further solidifying her place in the industry. Community Involvement Beyond her professional endeavors, Katleho is passionate about nurturing the next generation of filmmakers. She actively participates in community initiatives that promote the arts and often leads workshops to inspire young creatives to pursue their dreams.
