AACA, a leading film school in South Africa, is seeking a proactive and engaging Outreach Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in building and maintaining relationships with industry partners and alumni, ensuring strong connections that enhance our programs and support our students’ career aspirations.
Position Details:
- Develop and implement strategies to build and maintain relationships with industry partners and alumni.
- Coordinate outreach activities, including networking events, industry panels, guest lectures, and alumni reunions.
- Collaborate with industry partners to create internship, mentorship, and job placement opportunities for students and graduates.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of industry contacts and alumni, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
- Act as a liaison between AACA and the film industry, identifying opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborative projects.
- Organize and manage outreach campaigns to keep alumni and industry partners informed about school developments, achievements, and events.
- Work closely with the Career Services and Academic Departments to align outreach efforts with student support and curriculum needs.
- Track and analyze the effectiveness of outreach activities, making recommendations for improvements and new initiatives.

- Keeping up with industry trends and maintaining relevant, mutually beneficial relationships.
- Organizing and executing multiple outreach events and initiatives simultaneously.
- Measuring the impact of outreach efforts and adapting strategies to enhance effectiveness.
- Collaborating effectively with various departments to integrate outreach activities into the broader goals of the institution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous experience in outreach, public relations, or related roles, preferably within the education or film industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency with database management and communication tools.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working in higher education or a similar educational setting.
- Familiarity with the film industry and its professional networks.
- Event planning and coordination experience.
- Experience with alumni relations and development.
