Position: Full-time Faculty – Department of Film Studies

AACA, a renowned film school in South Africa, is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our faculty as full-time instructors. We are looking for dynamic educators who can teach across a range of disciplines, including film history, production, editing, directing, cinematography, producing, scriptwriting, VFX, Color Grading, Digital Image Technician, and more.
Because of the nature of our training, students will be fully functional when they leave. The BA in Film & Cinematic Studies is designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and skills necessary for a career in film production, providing a strong foundation in both practical and theoretical aspects of film and cinematic studies.
Position Details:
- Teach a variety of courses within your area of expertise, covering both foundational and advanced topics in film production and related fields.
- Develop and deliver engaging and innovative lessons that reflect current industry practices and trends.
- Mentor and advise students on academic and career development, providing guidance and support as they pursue their goals in the film industry.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure coherence and consistency across courses and programs.
- Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and ongoing program improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in your field.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other activities as required.

Requirements:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Film Studies, Cinematography, Screenwriting, etc.).
- Expertise and professional experience in one or more areas of film production or related disciplines.
- Previous teaching experience at the college or university level preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students in the film industry.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and student engagement.
- Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and program coordination.
- Professional experience in the film or media industry.
- Familiarity with educational technology and online learning platforms.
- Active engagement with professional organizations and networks in the film community.
